Lacey Schmidt, DVM

I grew up on a farm in NW Iowa with numerous cats, a dog, and several cows and knew from a young age that I wanted to be a veterinarian.

I have special interests in soft tissue surgery, abdominal ultrasound, neurology, emergency medicine, and exotic pets (small mammals, lizards, and tortoises). I also have a passion for human wellness in the veterinary profession and love to encourage my co-workers in living out their purpose and taking charge of their own health and well-being.

I received my B.S. in Animal Science in 2003 and DVM degree in 2007 from Iowa State University. I then completed a rotating small animal internship at New England Animal Medical Center in West Bridgewater, MA. Upon completion of my internship, my husband and I moved to Illinois and where I worked as an emergency and critical care veterinarian for 5.5 years before switching to general practice. We moved back to Iowa in 2021 and have been doing relief work prior to coming here. I look forward to establishing new relationships with your pets here.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, T.J., two daughters, Morgan and Rylie, and dogs, Holly and Marley.

When I’m not running around with 2 active girls, I enjoy cooking, traveling, weight lifting, curling (the sport), and spending time with friends.

I love developing long-lasting relationships with the pets and clients I serve. I am dedicated to your pet’s health and wellness and strive to provide exceptional care and expertise to your pet.
