Shayla Warrick, DVM
Hello! My name is Dr. Shayla Warrick. I grew up in Johnston and am excited to return to the area!
I attended the University of Northern Iowa and received my bachelor’s in biology in 2019. Throughout college, I swam on the UNI collegiate swim team and worked as a veterinary assistant at a local veterinary hospital. During this time, my love for animals and the profession grew, and it solidified my path toward becoming a veterinarian.
I then attended veterinary school at Iowa State University and graduated with my DVM in 2023. During this time, I started working at Prairie View Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant. I am so lucky to be part of a team that helped expand my knowledge and supported me throughout veterinary school! I love all areas of veterinary medicine but have a special interest in dermatology, cardiology, and preventative care.
When I am not working, I love spending time with my fiance, Tanner, and my family, friends, and pets. Tanner is from Clear Lake, so we love spending our free time in the area and on the lake.
I am excited to be back with the Prairie View Animal Hospital family in this new role, and I can’t wait to continue to care for your pets!
